Hidden Meanings in Popular Logos
Just discovered a blog site called "Wallet Pop" while looking for some visual illusions in popular culture. That was when I ran across this beauty: Hidden Meanings in Popular Logos on walletpop.com
This site also explains why the logos are special. I claim no ownership of this idea, but am happy to share their collection of images that I know your kids will find fascinating. In the Fed Ex logo, there is an arrow in the ground of the Ex figure.
After looking throught the website, which one is your favorite? Why? Can you think of any others that you see in everyday life?

I like the baskin robins one, cause it looks sweet and you can see all the flavors of ice cream they got.

I like the Amazon Logo because the hidden message is that they have anything and everything you want from a to z

I like the Amazon logo because the little yellow swoosh reminds me of a smiley face(that's its real purpose, to show custmosters smilling faces). And because the swoosh represnts all letters A to Z and a logo i notice ever single place a am is the golden arc from "Mc Donalds".
ReplyDeletei like the fedex because of the arrow, now every time i see the fedex sign. I'll allways see the arrow
ReplyDeleteI like the Big Ten one because even though it says big ten, it has an 11 in the logo. I think that's pretty weird.
ReplyDeleteI Like The Unilever, Because I Never Really Notice The Different Icons In The Big U & Its Actually Cool That Every Icon Means Something.

Well it was kind of a hard choice but I think that the northwestern airlines logo is cool because it makes since. Yeah the arrow in fed ex and the numbers In the baskin Robbins and big ten are cool and everything but they make no since to me. What do they mean? Maybe I'm just slow. But on the northwestern airlines logo you notice that the W looks like a N to if u see it right and that simply explains itself... N orth... W estern. But like I said maybe I'm slow.... And Putnam I got this one on time! I made it a lil lengthy again! :) I kno ur proud!!
ReplyDeleteHaha the families marriage logo looks like a bird with sunglasses on at the 2 R's!
ReplyDeleteI like the fedex one because now I won't be able to see the logo without seeing the arrow. And the families and marriage one is cool too.
ReplyDeletei like the good will one because you think it's just a g and then you relize its a smily face. this will let people percive that goodwill makes them happy self conciously. the best way to market something is to put hiddin good feelings about the product into them.
ReplyDeleteI like the Northwest Airlines logo. Its pretty creative. An N, a W, and a compass. Three meanings all in one, circled letter? Thats a winner for sure.
ReplyDeleteI like the gooddwill sign because in the conner there is a smilie face but it is also a lower case g. Ive never noticed it until i just looked at it _Shelby Spencer
ReplyDeleteI pick the fedex one. Becaues the arrow represents that they can get there quick, and their known for how fast their delivery service is.

I like the Baskin Robbins one because it brings out happiness. It makes me think about the hot summer days and eating ice cream..Yummm:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite has to be the amazon.com logo. I have never noticed or even thought about the swoosh underneath the actual name. I think it's cool that it has more than one meaning. Other logos with meaning behind it that i've notice was the Carolina Panthers' logo. The person designed it made it so that if u tilt it a certain way it looks like North Carolina and tilt it another way it looks like South Carolina.

My personal favorite would be the amazon one. Its unique design gives it a distinctive look and the hidden logo is something not many people really look for. Its very creative and i know i would never have thought of something like that. =)

ReplyDeleteI like the amazon.com logo, because i use that website to look things up and see how much they are worth. The logo i see a lot is google becasue whenever I go the internet at home that is the first thing that pops up. It is like the number one search engine.

My favorite was the FedEx logo. I had never noticed the arrow between the E and X. Thats really cool how the arrow represents the speed of delivery for that company. At this time I cannot think of another logo with a hidden message in it.
ReplyDeletei like the big ten one because its ironis saying like shop at big ten when there is an eleven showing up in the middle of the name lol and online you see amazon all day which has a smilie face in it which is pretty cool
ReplyDeleteI like the fed ek logo because I discovered that there was an arrow in there a long time ago and i always thought it was really cool. I always point it out everytime i see a fed ix truck !:)
ReplyDeleteI like the Baskin Robbins Sign because its blue and pink. Those colors remind me of my favorite colors from when I was little, I was obessed with cotton candy!!!!!! I think this sign brings back memories of being a child and always wanting ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Baskin Robins logo because its different, you dont really see to many of these fast food places in Gastonia. I also liked the goodwill sign because goodwill is helpful in many ways when u need a cheap CHEAP pair of clothes for work when you've lost your other good pairs.
ReplyDeletei like the baskin robbins logo. because whenever i see it., it reminds me of a hot summer day with friends hangin out & havin a scoop or two of ice cream. & i just love the bright colors., because they spread happiness :)
